Pre 2015 season Jet Joe Service
After 200 starts or around 20 hrs use its a good idea to have your engine stripped and checked out.
For Jet Joe Engines we can carry out a standard service for you.
Lets say your selling your engine ? it will always assist your sale if you have a certificate with the last service and tear down report with your engine.
We will take you engine apart , check all items for wear and check or replace the following parts
Check Compressor and diffuser for wear and take pictures of any damage to send to you
Check gas and fuel fittings and seals and replace as required.
Replace lubrication restrictor with new item
Check Fuel and Gas Injectors and if faulty notify you for replacement action
Check combustion chamber for wear weld fracture etc and report
Replace both bearings with new GRW ceramic bearings
Check turbine shaft for wear
Replace turbine nut as matter of course
Check Turbine wheel for wear
Balance individual and then together Compressor, Turbine and shaft spaces and nuts
Replace O Rings
Replace worn assembly screws
Loctite key bolts
Check tunnel spring and shims if fitted for wear
Check NGV for wear
Fit FOD if not supplied with engine
Replace glow plug
Check Starter motor and Bendix and report if worn
Check lubrication lines are clear and working
Re assemble Turbine and test run with our electronics and pump and complete report.
Should any wear be found it will be reported by email with a picture showing the damage and recommendations for replacement.
All shipping and taxes (for overseas import) must be paid by the customer

SERVICE NEWS- Diffuser cover changes JJ1400 JJ1800
The size of Compressor wheel with the JJ1400 and JJ1800 was changed 3 years hence.
You can accord to the size of Diffuser cover to judge whether it is the standard or not.Now the standard size of JJ1400 is 42mm and JJ1800 is 49mm.
The size of JJ3300 is not changed.
When ordering the JJ-1400 or JJ-1800 Compressor please check your diffuser cover dimensions and order both parts if in any doubt.

Service - Balance
Sportsturbine offers our balancing services to compliment our wide range of turbine services.
All units sent to Sportsturbine are examined and measured for proper balance prior to commencing any work on the turbine. This enables us to establish a benchmark prior to working on the turbine in order for us to inform our customers of the overall balance condition of the motor before we begin our work and for us to compare the finshed results upon completion.
Bearing replacement is the most common reason for requesting balancing, however, many issues can arise which necessitate dismantling of the motor. Dependent on the issue, the unit may have to be rebalanced.
In general, most manufacturers require replacement of bearings at regular intervals. Most require this maintenance to be performed at 25 hour intervals. The time frame can be shorter if vibration is present.
With the high cost of bearings, it is well worth the expense to maintain a turbine in good balance. One thing is certain that any imbalance left unaddressed will shorten the life of the bearings.
